A picturesque hilltop village with great views, just five minutes’ drive from Rigaud.

MOULIETS ET VILLEMARTIN / FLAUJAGUES / STE RADEGONDE

Mouliets is the closest village to Chateau Rigaud but has no shops or amenities. Flaujagues is the next village along and flanks the Dordogne river. It has a small shop and a restaurant. Ste Radegonde is a very small village but boasts a great sourdough bakery. Accommodation in these villages is within a 5 minute drive of Rigaud.

CASTILLON-LA-BATAILLE

Castillon is the nearest town to Rigaud. There is an hourly train service to central Bordeaux and

a selection of restaurants and shops, including a big Leclerc supermarket on the outskirts of town. Monday is market day and extends over most of the centre of town.

A historic hilltop village with protected status, Gensac has a small supermarket, pharmacy hairdresser and a couple of bar/restaurants. It’s a 10-15 minute drive from Chateau Rigaud.

THE DAY BEFORE

9pm – 10:30pm

As a lot of you will already be settled in the area the day before the wedding,
we'd love you to join us for a welcome drink that evening at Le Bistro (see How to Arrive for directions).

WHERE TO EAT

There are loads of lovely local restaurants to choose from in the neighbouring towns for dinner beforehand. We highly recommend Le Caffe Cuisine in Branne.

THE WEDDING DAY

Saturday 3rd August

2:45pm – 2am

The wedding ceremony will take place at Chateau Rigaud at 3pm, so aim to

arrive at about 2:45pm. Once we're firmly wed, an evening of crémant, dining and dancing awaits – all at the Chateau.

DRESS CODE

Dress for heat, in whatever makes you feel great.

THE DAY AFTER

Sunday 4th August

1pm – 6pm

We'll be having a long recovery lunch, pool party and debrief back at the Chateau,

from 1pm until late afternoon: a day to soak up the French summer haze.

DON'T FORGET

Sunglasses, swimwear and a towel if you fancy a swim (or a bomb!).

BY PLANE

The closest airports are Bordeaux and Bergerac with daily scheduled

and budget flights from many UK airports. It takes approximately 50mins

to reach Chateau Rigaud from either airport.

BY TRAIN

The closest mainline railway station is Libourne and is approximately 6 hours

from Lille or 3.5 hours from Paris.

Libourne is only a 20 minute drive from Chateau Rigaud whereas Bordeaux St

Jean station is at least an hour. So if you're travelling from Paris it’s better to

take the slower TGV which stops at Libourne, rather than the faster Atlantic TGV.

BY CAR

We recommend that you hire a car wherever possible as it's more difficult to reach

Chateau Rigaud without one, and taxis can be scarce once you are out in the vines.

Hire cars are available from all the major providers at both airports and there is a

Europcar depot opposite Libourne train station.

If you plan to join us for a welcome drink at Le Bistro on Friday night, you can find

directions on the map below.

We'd recommend organising any taxis for drop-off or collection in advance as they

can be very hard to come by in the area. Most hotels and B&Bs will be able to help

you organise this if you ask them.

CAN I PARK AT THE VENUE?

Yes! When you arrive at Chateau Rigaud please park in the field just outside
the main gate. You’re welcome to leave your car here overnight, if you've arranged for alternative transport back to your accommodation post-party.

ARE TAXIS AVAILABLE ON THE WEDDING NIGHT?

If you've booked accommodation from our recommended list (see Where to Stay) we guarantee to get you home on the wedding night using the Rigaud

bus shuttle service.
